Chris VanTol
President
Chris VanTol founded the VanTol & Vitelli Insurance Group in 2012. Chris is a lifelong sailor and boater who grew up racing sailboats on the waters of the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair. Over the years Chris has accumulated a resume of racing nationally, on the Florida, East and West coasts, Europe, Bermuda and The Virgin Islands. From 2007 to 2009, Chris was the helmsman for the No. 1-ranked match racing team in the United States. Chris and his team at VanTol Group together have 50+ years of property casualty experience in yacht, marine, high-end home and auto and commercial insurance. Chris is a past Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Detroit and is a member of the Bayview Yacht Club, Detroit Yacht Club and the Detroit Athletic Club.
Sarah Vitelli
Vice President
Raised in Shelby Township, Sarah brings more than 17 years of insurance expertise to VanTol & Vitelli Insurance Group.
Prior to joining the agency, Sarah worked at two of the largest insurance agencies on Michigan, specializing in the service of personal insurance.
Outside of the office Sarah enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, getting a round of golf in and spending time with her friends and family.
Ian Hollerbach
Producer
Raised in an entrepreneurial family in the Detroit area, Ian is very much at home in the competitive insurance market where client service is a foundational skill. Ian began competitive sailing at the age of seven, competing at venues around the world. He spends his free time as a certified US Sailing coach and volunteer for several inner-city Detroit school organizations. As a member of Bayview Yacht Club and Detroit Yacht Club, Ian is a presence in the local boating community and a Chairman on the Detroit Regional Yachting Association Executive Committee.
Mary August
Account Manager
Mary grew up in Richmond, MI and graduated from Richmond High School. She has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry. Mary previously worked at one of the largest insurance agencies in Michigan and one of the leading insurance companies in the country. When she is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her family, following her favorite Detroit sports teams, and going out on her boat.
Kathie Gilbert
Account Executive
Kathie is a graduate of Oakland University who was raised in Shelby Township. Prior to joining VanTol & Vitelli she worked as a launch engineer for one of the Big Three automakers. Kathie’s background and attention to detail allows her to excel in the sales and service of personal lines insurance. When not in the office Kathie stays busy traveling and participating in Michigan’s variety of activities available to her such as golf and snowboarding.
Cassandra Nightingale
Account Manager
Cassandra has been in customer service for over 15yrs. She studied business management and music throughout college. When not in the office she loves to be on the water, vacationing with her family, husband Kyle and son Eli. She also loves to practice yoga, piano and cosmetology in her free time.
